I’m strong because I know my weaknesses, I’m wise because I’ve been foolish, and I laugh because I’ve known sadness
When you smiled you had my undivided attention. When you laughed you had my urge to laugh with you. When you cried you had my urge to hold you. When you said you loved me, you had my heart forever.
A red river of screams, underneath tears in my eyes
Underneath stars in my black and blue sky
Underneath under my skin
The depths of my sin Look at me now do you see?
I’m at a loss for words
In my maelstrom.
My confusion rains down into my heart
And has stopped the words
That describe my feelings,
That open a window of my heart
For all to have a glimpse
Of the me that hides under my skin, bones, and fat.
